About Air Source Heat Pump

How does the technology work?

Air source heat pumps use raw ambient air to generate heat. The system passes air through an evaporator before cooling it down. As part of this process the heat from the air is absorbed into a fluid, which is pumped through a heat exchanger in the pump and passed on to a storage cylinder.

The heat from his cylinder can then be used for heating or hot water applications. They are usually easier and cheaper than ground source heat pumps to install but slightly less efficient.

Where can an air source heat pump be installed?

They can be installed on outside walls, roofs, or free-standing adjacent to a building.
